Digital save the date videos are a trend that founder of Oikos Studios, Jeff Ho has seen rise in popularity. “It’s a unique way to share your love and include the important information of the wedding day with your wedding guests,” Ho agrees. The medium of video allows for a more intimate, dynamic, and engaging presentation for what lies ahead for guests, which is also much of the benefit of opting for a digital save the date invite.

Working strictly with digital media, a video is a great alternative to physical cards; it saves time and energy in choosing the materials, designs, and the hassle of sending finished cards in the post. “With a video, you can send it straight to the guest with no delay. It is definitely one thing less to worry about,” Ho says. This allows the process of creating and producing save the date notifications to be more environmentally friendly and instantaneous to send.

The production process begins with a consultation with the videographer. their wedding. “The benefit [of a save the date] video is that the bride gets to see how they look on the video with makeup done prior to the wedding day,” Ho explains. As the video is a mini celebration-reel to excite their guests, couples can opt to also include members of family that cannot attend the wedding – like their pets. “Sometimes a couple has fur babies which cannot make it to the wedding day. It’s the best time to include them in the video.” This a thoughtful way to add an extra layer of love and inject more of your personality into the production.
